#BoldBeliefDevotional by Paul Natekin
Key Bible Verse:
“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.” — Proverbs 3:3 (NIV)
Have you ever felt like you’ve drifted away from your faith? Sometimes, we find ourselves in situations where our commitment to God feels less firm. It’s in these moments that we need to remember what true faithfulness looks like.
Apologetic Insight:
(from Greek ἀπολογία, ‘speaking in defense’) Defending and explaining faith with reason and evidence.
Francis Schaeffer, a noted theologian and philosopher, once described apostasy as “spiritual adultery.” This metaphor captures the gravity of straying from our faith. In the book of Hosea, God illustrates His relationship with Israel as a marriage where Israel’s unfaithfulness is depicted as adultery. As Norman Geisler points out, “Fidelity to Christ is not just a preference; it’s the core of our spiritual identity.”
This theme of faithfulness echoes through Scripture. Proverbs 3:3 reminds us to let love and faithfulness be a constant part of our lives. William Lane Craig emphasizes, “Our faithfulness to God isn’t a one-time event but a daily commitment to love and honor Him.” When we consider the small matters, as Jesus teaches in Luke 16:10, we realize that our faithfulness in the little things is a reflection of our devotion to God.
Encouragement & Application:

- Stay rooted in Scripture: Regularly read and meditate on God’s Word to keep your heart aligned with His truth.
- Seek Accountability: Engage with a community or mentor who can help you stay true to your faith.
- Pray for Steadfastness: Ask God for the strength to remain faithful in every aspect of your life.
Reflection Questions:
- How can you apply the principle of faithfulness in your daily life?
- What are some small ways you can demonstrate your loyalty to God today?

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unwavering faithfulness to us. Help us to mirror Your steadfast love in our lives, staying true to You in all circumstances. Forgive us when we falter and guide us back to Your loving embrace. Strengthen our resolve to be faithful, even when it’s challenging. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
