“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'” – John 14:6
Have you ever felt caught in the middle of uncertainty—a nagging voice that says we can’t know anything about God? Many struggle with questions that seem impossible to answer. Agnosticism, from the Greek a (without) and gnosis (knowledge), suggests we may never truly know the divine. But where does that leave us in a world overflowing with questions?
Apologetic Insight:
(from Greek ἀπολογία, ‘speaking in defense’) Defending and explaining faith with reason and evidence.
When we claim that one cannot know anything about God, we inadvertently make a statement about knowledge itself—which is paradoxical. As we explore this logical puzzle, it becomes evident that denying the possibility of knowing God ends up contradicting itself. C.S. Lewis once remarked, “If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another.” His words remind us that deep longings for truth reflect a reality beyond mere human understanding. Similarly, respected apologists like William Lane Craig argue that reason and experience point toward a transcendent truth embodied in Jesus Christ. Our doubts, when examined with careful logic and open heart, can lead us to the comforting reality that genuine knowledge is found in Christ—a truth that not only informs our understanding but transforms our lives.
Scripturally, Jesus’ claim as the way, the truth, and the life stands in stark contrast to the uncertainty of agnosticism. His words invite us to a certainty that outstrips any human reasoning; in Him, our questions find real answers, and our doubts are met with living truth.

Know that questions and doubts are not signs of weak faith but opportunities to draw nearer to God. Let your pursuit of truth lead you to spend time in Scripture, seek honest conversation with trusted mentors, and engage with a community that loves learning about the faith. Grant us wisdom and courage to pursue Your knowledge, and lead us into a deeper, more confident relationship with You. May our doubts turn into stepping stones toward a faith anchored in Your love.
